Privacy policy
- There is no account. Your learning progress and settings stay on your device.
- We don't run servers that receive your data, and we don't sell your data.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some device information to serve and measure those ads, as described below.
Information stored on your device
To work, the app saves the following on your phone only. It is never sent to us.
- Learning progress: lessons and case studies completed, reading progress, XP, level, streak, badges and achievements.
- Practice history: quiz scores, which questions you answered and whether they were correct, bookmarked questions, and your spaced-review schedule.
- Your choices: learning goal, experience level, an optional interview date, theme, and daily reminder settings.
- Technical settings, such as whether you declined an app update and when.
"Export progress" in Settings copies your progress to your clipboard so you can save it yourself. It is only shared if you paste it somewhere.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process information such as:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers;
- your IP address, which can indicate your approximate location;
- device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version);
- how you interact with ads (views and taps), and diagnostic and crash data from the ads SDK.
Google handles this information under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Consent. In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and other places where it is required, the app shows Google's consent message before ads load. You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices.
Personalised ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your device's settings (on most Android phones: Settings > Privacy > Ads). You can also manage Google's ad settings at My Ad Center.
App updates (Google Play)
When the app opens, it asks Google Play whether a newer version is available and, if you agree, lets Google Play download and install it. This check is handled by Google Play on your device; the app doesn't send us anything.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a notification on your device. Reminders are created locally; nothing is sent to a server. You can turn them off in Settings or in your device's notification settings.
Permissions the app uses
- Internet and network state: to load ads and check Google Play for updates. Lessons, case studies and questions work offline.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): to show the optional daily reminder.
- Run at startup: to restore your reminder after the phone restarts.
- Advertising ID: used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK for ads.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location.
- We don't use our own analytics or tracking tools.
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
Children
The app is meant for people preparing for software engineering interviews and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and that information about them was collected through ads, contact us and we will help.
Keeping or deleting your data
- Settings > Reset progress deletes your progress, XP, badges and quiz history from the device.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device.
- For information Google collects for ads, use your device's ad settings, My Ad Center, or Google's privacy controls.
Security
Your progress stays in the app's private storage on your device, which other apps can't read. Ad traffic between the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google is encrypted in transit.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
